Melinda Wilkerson has more than 25 years experience as an educator. She is a school counselor with Fairfax County Public Schools, where the counseling team received its third award for being a Recognized American School Counselor Association Model Program (RAMP). In the September/October 2012 edition of the ASCA School Counselor Magazine, Melinda published an article entitled “Six Steps to Intern Supervision.” Melinda is also a trainer for a national college and career readiness organization.
Melinda’s passion is to help students and colleagues maintain forward-thinking. Ivy Dreams was birthed out of Melinda’s experience in working with high school seniors and their families through the college application process.

Melinda is an associate member of the Independent Educational Consultants Association (IECA).​

Melinda is a native of Hampton, Virginia. A first generation college student, Melinda received her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and her Master’s Degree in Education from George Mason University in Fairfax, VA. Prior to school counseling, Melinda worked as a residential counselor for children, adolescents, and later with adults.

During her leisure time, Melinda likes to travel, read and spend time with her family.
